OKBET SECRET DESTROYS TALON ESPORTS
After Squad OKBET Secret beat the Southeast Asian (SEA) team 2-0, Talon Esports will have to play a two-way tiebreaker. Talon Esports just needed a single victory against Team Secret to claim a berth in the TI11 playoff rounds.
Unfortunately, Talon Esports did not win that single game, as the Western European squad thrashed them 2-0. Despite the setback, Talon will have one more opportunity to escape elimination when it faces Entity in a winner-take-all tiebreaker. The winner of this match will advance to the playoffs OKBET Secret.
Match Recap: Talon Esports vs. OKBET Secret
While Team OKBET Secret had already secured a place in the top bracket, Talon Esports was hoping to avoid elimination, since a 0-2 loss would end their TI11 trip. Furthermore, the SEA team need good outcomes in other matches, such as Entity against Tundra, in order to be eligible for tiebreakers.
Talon began the game by drafting Doom for Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon and Templar Assassin for Rafli “Mikoto” Rahman, whilst Secret went with a more aggressive roster that included Shadow Fiend, Slardar, and Marci.
OKBET Secret won the laning phase because the Western European team controlled Talon from the start. While Talon gained some momentum in the mid-game, Secret’s aggressive composition consistently picked off Talon’s heroes. The opening game of the series was won by Team Secret after little over 28 minutes at OKBET Secret.
Talon aimed for pushing potential by picking Lone Druid, Lycan, and Leshrac as the main lineup, while Secret picked Bloodseeker for Remco “Crystallis” Arets and Broodmother for Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok.
While Talon Esports had a strong start to the laning phase, a few errors in the middle of the game enabled Team Secret to narrow the net worth and objective deficit. Despite Talon’s efforts to protect the base, Secret’s damage output is much too great, and they won Game Two after 36 minutes.
Following the victory, Team Secret will finish second in Group B. Talon, on the other hand, will have one more opportunity to escape elimination when they meet Entity in a best of three (Bo3) tiebreaker for the last Lower Bracket spot.
